Hospital and day surgery teams have always managed some of the most time pressured decisions in healthcare with tools that were never quite built for the job. Spreadsheets track bed states that change by the hour. Theatre lists get built and rebuilt by hand. Schedulers juggle surgeon preferences, room availability and pre-admission status across systems that do not talk to each other.

That is the gap the new PAS Productivity Platform is built to close.
A new layer, not a new system
The PAS Productivity Platform is a productivity layer that sits on top of MasterCare PAS, giving private hospitals, day hospitals and procedure facilities a live view of what is happening on the floor right now. There is nothing to migrate and nothing to replace. Teams sign in with their existing credentials and ward structures, theatre configurations, surgeon profiles and patient records carry across directly from the PAS they already use.
It launches with two modules, Bed Flow and Theatre Management, both now available.
Bed Flow: a live view of every bed
Bed managers, nurse unit managers and discharge teams often start the day rebuilding a picture of the ward from scratch. Bed Flow gives them a single, live view of bed state across the whole facility instead, with every bed visible and colour coded by status.
From that same screen, teams can allocate beds, manage transfers, record patient leave and trigger escalations. A predicted discharge list adds confidence levels and known blockers to each patient, so teams can prioritise the day earlier rather than reacting to it as it unfolds. Time based and capacity-based escalation triggers aim to flag pressure before it builds into a crisis.
Theatre Management: readiness before the day begins
Theatre coordinators and schedulers face a similar problem on the other side of the hospital. Theatre Management brings pre-admission status directly into the list view, so the team knows which patients are ready before the first case starts, and surgeon preferences are captured once and applied automatically to how lists are built.
From there, the workflow follows each patient from the anaesthetic bay into theatre and through to recovery, capturing timing, prosthetics, specimens and MBS items as the case progresses. Utilisation and turnaround dashboards then show coordinators how each session is tracking against target, in real time rather than after the fact.
For day hospitals and any facility running operating theatres or procedure rooms, this replaces fragmented list building and manual utilisation tracking with a single connected workflow across the whole peri-operative journey.
Built for where hospitals already are
The PAS Productivity Platform is available to existing MasterCare PAS customers, and to any hospital, day hospital or procedure facility taking up MasterCare PAS for the first time. Sites can start with one module and add the other as they are ready, with further modules planned through the year, including a Reporting Hub, simplified admissions and discharge functions, and a discharge planning and coding optimisation module.
