MasterCare+

What’s new in MasterCare+: reporting, performance and AI in the clinical workflow

MasterCare+ is developed in close consultation with the health organisations that use it. This is a summary of what has shipped in recent releases and what is in development.

Reporting now runs inside the platform

Reporting has historically required moving between MasterCare+ and a separate Power BI environment. Native MasterCare+ reports now load directly inside the platform.

The first two available in this format are the My Health Record Discharge Summary Upload Report and the MHR Upload Consent Report. Both are accessible from the standard report grid with sortable columns, date filters and CSV and Excel export. Further reports will migrate to this format over coming releases.

For organisations monitoring My Health Record compliance, this removes a step from routine checks.

Performance improvements

The most recent release addressed a set of known bottlenecks:

  • Ward handover printing is faster on wards with high patient volumes.
  • The Episodes and Encounters tab loads more quickly for clients with contacts across many locations.
  • The Encounter List dashboard widget no longer times out on large datasets.
  • The Audit Log Report responds faster on tenants with extensive audit histories.
  • Client allergy pages load faster for long-tenure clients with many recorded allergies.

None of these change the interface. They change how long you wait.

Episode and encounter naming

Clinical teams can now name each encounter at the point of creation, with frequently used names surfaced for reuse. Each episode of care is assigned a sequential number per client, displayed consistently across card views and banners, so clinical history reads chronologically from first contact.

Naming templates can be configured at program level, so fields are pre-populated when a clinician creates an appointment or encounter. In multi-program environments where a client may hold several episodes across several years, this makes the record faster to navigate.

AI in the clinical workflow

The Heidi Health transcription widget sits within the clinical note screen in MasterCare+. Clinicians record a consultation and a structured note is generated and incorporated into the client record without leaving the documentation screen. There is no separate application to open and no manual transfer between tools.

The AI Assistant is available across MasterCare+ workflows, providing contextual guidance at the point of need. For staff working in less familiar areas of the platform or managing complex program configurations, help is available in context rather than through a support request.

In development

  • Appointment book overhaul. Flexible appointment creation, rescheduling, concurrent bookings and roster changes that retain existing appointments.
  • Task management. Create, assign and track tasks against the client record.
  • Workflow automation. Task-triggered rules for routine clinical and administrative steps.
  • Waitlist management. Expiration dates on entries and automatic removal when a client is booked.
